Hi Tim !
Hope you're doing great ! I can tell you're doing very well so far on your Poznote app.
Using it as soon as possible and your improvments are tremendous ! SO thanl you again for being so (re)active on Demands or Questions we've got. I hope I coul'd say the same on every professional projet I'm on....
Create a Folder (and Workspace) Directly from the "Move Note" Dialog
Context
The Move Note dialog in Poznote currently allows users to select a destination workspace and choose from a list of recent folders or preexisting folders. This works well for the most common use cases and provides a fast workflow when the destination folder already exists.
However, when the target folder does not yet exist, the workflow is interrupted. Users must leave the current action to create the folder (or even a new workspace), then restart the entire move operation.
This context switch introduces unnecessary friction for what is otherwise a common organizational task, especially when creating new projects or restructuring knowledge.
Many modern knowledge management applications now allow users to create missing destinations directly from move dialogs, preserving workflow continuity and minimizing context switching.
Proposal
Enhance the Move Note dialog so that users can complete the entire move operation without leaving the current workflow.
The proposed improvements are:
Additionally, it may be worth reconsidering how destination folders are selected:
This approach would preserve the speed of the current workflow while eliminating its main limitation.
Expected Benefits
This enhancement would make moving notes a seamless, end-to-end operation without interrupting the user's workflow.
Expected benefits include:
Overall, this feature would provide a meaningful time-saving improvement, reduce friction during note organization, and make the application significantly more efficient for users managing evolving knowledge structures.
Feature Request: Allow users to create a new folder and a new workspace directly from the Move Note dialog, automatically selecting the newly created destination. Additionally, consider providing access to the complete folder hierarchy alongside recent folders to enable a fully seamless note-moving experience.
