I’m planning to relaunch Simple QR on the App Store, and I’d really appreciate your opinions before deciding how to move forward.

Simple QR is meant to stay open-source, lightweight and straightforward —
no ads, no tracking, no data collection.

However, maintaining an iOS app does come with ongoing costs, such as:

I’d like to find a fair way to balance these costs while keeping the app accessible.

What I’m currently considering is:

• ✅ Free download
• ✅ Core QR functionality available for free
  (e.g. basic scan & generate)
• 🔒 Some advanced or convenience features available via an iOS subscription (Let say 1 USD per month?)

The intention is to:

• Let everyone use the app meaningfully for free
• Keep the app clean and ad‑free
• Ask only users who need extra features to help support ongoing costs
