CloudStream Pro v1.4.0 — SkyStream Plugins
CloudStream Pro v1.4.0 — "SkyStream Plugins"
The plugin release: a whole new extension system joins the app,
plus a rebuilt Feed, a floating navigation bar, and a fresh icon
set. Device-tested and approved. v1.3.1 remains the fallback.
SkyStream plugins (new)
- SkyStream's own plugins now run inside CloudStream Pro: install
.skyplugin files or add plugin repositories, and their
providers appear alongside your regular ones — home sections,
search, and streams included. - A new "SkyStream Plugins" page manages everything: installed
plugins with their settings, and a Discover tab for browsing
repositories. - Plugins start with a clean slate — add the repositories you
want yourself.
Extensions, rebuilt
- All four extension pages — Extensions, Nuvio, Stremio, and
SkyStream Plugins — now share one two-tab layout: Installed and
Repositories/Discover, with a swipe between them. - Installed plugins show their icon, status, and settings in one
place; repositories are easier to add, refresh, and remove.
Feed
- Categories now come from your providers' own sections (Korean
Drama becomes "K-Drama", and so on), with rating-based rows as
a fallback — so the shelves match what your providers actually
carry. - Settings → Content → Feed Categories lets you hide shelves and
drag them into your preferred order. "View All" opens the full
category, loaded on demand. - The Feed search button opens its own full-screen search page
over the Feed — results come from the feed pool, tapping one
plays it in the feed player, and Back returns you to the Feed. - The Info sheet is richer: poster, genres, description, a
Starring cast grid, and a Trailer button that plays the trailer
right inside the sheet. Tapping a cast member opens their
filmography, gathered from TVmaze and Wikidata. - The feed player is locked at its full 16:9 size — scrolling the
list below it never squeezes the video, and swipe gestures for
brightness and volume stay exactly where you left them.
Navigation & icons
- The bottom bar is now a floating pill: tap a tab and it expands
with a smooth spring to show its name, while the rest stay
icon-only. The active tab sits on a grey highlight. TV keeps
the classic bar, untouched. - Every icon in the app has been redrawn in the Lucide style —
one consistent 2px-stroke set across navigation, settings,
player, and lists.
Home
- Pure-black background throughout, with red-underlined section
headers and a compact "View All" pill. - The provider switcher is smarter — one sheet to pick your
homepage provider or a custom list — and its pill in the top
bar is now slightly transparent over the artwork. - Continue Watching sits directly on the black background, and
its thumbnail shows a pause badge while that title is the one
loaded in the player — play everywhere else.
Details
- A full-bleed backdrop header with the poster and title over it,
a red Play pill and an outlined Download pill, a synopsis you
can expand, and season chips with an episode card list. - The Play and Download pills keep a clear, consistent gap in
every state — normal, resume ("time remaining"), and series. - Episode thumbnails carry the same state badge as Continue
Watching: pause for the episode currently loaded, play for
the rest.
Player
- Resize now starts on Zoom, and "fit to screen" is gone from
the resize cycle — Zoom and Fill are the two stops. - The lock button in the control row is back to the same size
as its neighbours.
Look & consistency
- Every bottom sheet and dialog in the app now follows one
standard style — same surface, same corners, same buttons —
so filters, info, and confirmations all feel like one app.
CloudStream Pro v1.3.1 — Polish & Calm
CloudStream Pro v1.3.1 — "Polish & Calm"
The Feed/Home polish release: everything from the 8.71–8.76 rounds, device-tested and approved. v1.3.0 remains the fallback.
The shake is gone (three rounds of root causes)
- The hero no longer collapses while loading — a skeleton shimmer holds its 500dp frame, so categories never jump up.
- Title/rating resolution bursts now refresh only the rows on screen (the hero is never rebound), and grid posters no longer crossfade — the full-screen shimmer wave while scrolling is gone.
- Poster reloads are guarded per view, and hero pull-grow only engages at the very top.
Home
- Gold rating stars on posters and in feed meta.
- Provider switcher shows the active custom list's name (it sat blank before); custom lists can be pinned like providers and no longer carry a ★ prefix.
- Rows rotate every 60s and on pull-to-refresh; sections are slimmer; row titles sit tight under posters.
- Hide category now hides the category you actually pressed (it resolved rows from a stale list before).
- The switcher and bottom nav hide on scroll down and return on a slight scroll up — responsively, in both directions.
- Ratings now resolve for yearless and cross-type titles too, and Feed "Add to list" collections show their posters on Home.
Feed
- "For You" header with the red underline; filled red heart for liked items.
- All action pills (Sources / Episodes / Download / Add to list) on one line at natural width.
- The watch header shows rating + year, never a raw "Id …" title, and resolves the real title in place when it lands.
- "Info ›" sits right beside the title and expands the storyline.
- Player controls got a light black scrim so icons stay readable on bright scenes; cast/audio/subtitle buttons are a touch smaller; the seek wedge replaced the skip badges.
- Feed cards hide id-like titles and keep Anime/Movie tags consistent with the details page.
Player
- Double-tap seek (and centre double-tap play/pause) now works while the screen is locked; single taps and swipe gestures stay suppressed.
- Downloads: DASH downloads report a real total size (estimated from the manifest), so progress bars move; thumbnails no longer flicker.
Settings & theme
- Every toggle in the app is now Google's Material switch in a light-blue track / deep-blue thumb style — including the Player, UI and General preference screens, which silently used a different widget before.
- Material You theme surfaces are tinted from the dynamic palette instead of flat gray.
- Cinemeta (Stremio) now starts disabled on fresh installs; your existing choice is untouched.
CloudStream Pro v1.3.0 — The Addon Bridge
This release adds a whole new layer to CloudStream Pro: Stremio addons and Nuvio scraper plugins now work inside the app, next to the regular CloudStream providers. Install them yourself from Settings — the app ships with no third-party addons beyond the built-in Cinemeta metadata catalog.
Stremio Addons (Settings → Stremio Addons)
- Add any Stremio addon by manifest URL (listing-page links are resolved automatically)
- Each addon becomes a provider: catalogs on Home, search, details
- When you play a title, every enabled addon is asked for streams and subtitles — catalog addon, stream addons and OpenSubtitles-style subtitle addons all enrich the same title
- Built-in Cinemeta catalog always available (can be disabled, not removed)
Nuvio Plugins (Settings → Nuvio Plugins)
- Add Nuvio plugin repositories; their JavaScript scrapers run in a built-in engine (QuickJS) with a browser-like host environment
- New repositories start with all scrapers off — enable only the ones you want
- Per-scraper settings forms render inside the app
- A TMDB-powered "Nuvio" provider appears on Home (needs your own TMDB API key in Settings → Account): trending/popular movies & shows whose streams come from your enabled scrapers
- Nuvio scrapers also supply streams for Stremio-catalog titles
- Validity check per repository (✓ button): load-tests every scraper and shows its status — plus the last real fetch result ("23 streams", "error …") right on each row
Player
- Grouped source list: with many sources, the picker now groups them by provider — "▸ Dahmermovies · 23" — tap to expand; the group of the playing source starts open
- YouTube-style double-tap seek wedge in the main player, now also in the Feed player (accumulating 10/20/30 seconds)
- Preload buffer setting (1/3/5/10 min) for smoother playback on slow networks
- Feed playback fallback repair + TV cast button in the feed watch screen
Other
- Themes: Dark (#121212) and Material You only
- Bridge registrations are isolated at startup, so one failing addon can no longer affect the others
- Scraper requests now send a browser User-Agent by default (some source sites reject plain HTTP clients with 403)
Notes
- Torrent (infoHash) streams are not played yet — a torrent engine is planned for a later release
- Some scrapers' settings pages are empty because their manifest advertises settings the plugin does not actually implement; the app now tells you this honestly instead of failing
CloudStream Pro v1.2.0
🎬 CloudStream Pro v1.2.0
The biggest update yet — a brand-new Feed, a modernised player, a download system that finally behaves, and a name to match: the app is now CloudStream Pro.
✨ New: Feed
A dedicated Feed tab with an endless, reels-style wall of posters from all your providers mixed together — no categories, just clean titles.
- ❤️ Like posters to teach the feed your taste
▶️ Tap a poster and it plays instantly in the portrait player — double-tap to skip ∓10s, pick quality / subtitles / audio right inside- 📺 Turn the phone sideways and playback hands over to the main player, right where you left off
- ⬇️ Download a single episode or a whole season from the batch page (quality + audio selection included)
- 🔖 Add to list with the same watch-status lists as the details page
- 🔍 Feed search, genre chips, pull-to-refresh, and a YouTube-style mini player
🎥 Player
- Modern look: solid play button and a YouTube-style seekbar
- Resume exactly where you stopped — positions are shared between the feed player and the main player
- Cache auto-delete option, grouped player settings, haptic feedback (with a Settings switch)
🏠 Home
- Custom Home Lists — build your own home screens mixing categories from different providers (Settings → Content → Categories), and switch them right from the provider picker (★ rows)
- Live category rotation, drag-to-reorder rows, long-press to hide a category
- Cleaner poster titles — no more quality junk in names
⬇️ Downloads
- DASH downloads — sources that only offer DASH now download as real MP4 files
- Cross-provider fallback — if a title fails on one provider, the downloader finds the same title elsewhere, preferring your chosen language and quality
- Live queue with posters, MB/ETA, a real progress notification, and downloads that are visible in the Downloads tab while they run
🆕 First-run experience
- Fresh installs start ready: sensible default settings, repositories and custom lists pre-loaded, and the core CNC plugins downloaded automatically
- Family Mode (Settings → Content) — keeps adult providers and titles out of Home, Feed and Search
⭐ Universal ratings
Providers that don't ship a score no longer mean a blank card. Add your own TMDB and/or IMDb (OMDb) key under Settings → Account → Ratings (Universal) and ratings are resolved by title + year and shown everywhere — Home, Search, Feed and the details page. The key is tested the moment you save it, and stays only on your device.
🎨 Design
- One accent, used with intent: Play is red (#E50914), everything else monochrome
- Smoother motion everywhere — crossfades, skeleton loading, press effects
🐛 Fixes
- Feed playback from a cold start (links now extract on the right thread)
- A wrong title can no longer start playing when a provider fails — fallback matching is strict now (exact title, type and year)
- Movies no longer wear an "S1 E1" label in the feed player
- Download notifications stuck at "0 queued / 0 active" on older Android versions
- Dozens of smaller polish and stability fixes
Requires Android 6.0+. Tested on Android 8.1 and Android 12+.
Previous stable release: v1.1.0
CloudStream Pro v1.1.0
What's new
- Smart Theme — the theme and colour pickers are cleaned up: Dark, System, Light, AMOLED and Material You themes, with a curated accent list (Default, Material You, Red, Blue, Purple, Green, Pink, Orange, White, Grey). System and Material You appear automatically on Android 10+/12+ devices.
- Responsive popups — dialogs and bottom sheets are sized to their content instead of filling the screen, and screen transitions use smooth Material 3 motion throughout the app.
- Player polish — new solid pause icon and clean ±10s skip icons.
- Overlay dialogs in the player — Sources, subtitles, audio/quality tracks, online subtitles and subtitle offset now open as floating cards over the video instead of a separate full page.
