Tool Versions

Hi,

I would like to contribute and learn more from this amazing project. I have looked at the contribution guide and use mise to ensure my tool versions are compatible with the project.

However, it seems that the .tool-versions file is different from those listed under the engines in the root package.json.

nodejs 20.10.0
pnpm 8.15.5

    "node": "^22.18.0",
    "pnpm": "^9.12.2"

Kindly, are there any version conflicts that may have caused the difference or was it not updated during a PR ?

Yeah, the .tool-versions file is just outdated — it wasn't updated when the engines field in package.json was bumped to Node 22 and pnpm 9.

The package.json engines field is the source of truth since that's what pnpm actually enforces (via engine-strict or the packageManager field). The .tool-versions file is used by asdf/mise but it's not automatically kept in sync.

For contributing, go with what package.json says:

• Node ^22.18.0
• pnpm ^9.12.2

Your .mise.toml or .tool-versions override should look like:

nodejs 22.18.0
pnpm 9.12.2

This would actually be a good first PR if you want to contribute — just update .tool-versions to match the engines field. Small and non-breaking.
