Reset password without registration mode enabled

Hi, do you know if there is a reason why reset password page works only if the Registration mode is set to enabled? We would like to access the reset password functionality even without open registration

Regardless of whether the registration mode is enabled, you can use reset password. I don't understand where the issue is.

If the registration mode is disabled, and a reset password link is provided via email, when I click on the link from email on the redirected page the new password controls are not visible. If I enable the registration mod then it is visible. If I see correctly on the page where this control is displayed there is an if check if registration mode is enabled or not
