Add UMD wrapper for bower

None of this code is required to be node-specific, just node-targeted. It can still be used by the browser though (in theory). As a result, add a UMD wrapper so we can publish it to bower.

Close but we don't want to include underscore as part of the dependencies. It should be resolved by the UMD itself as per Backbone

xtend is so small that duplicating it in AMD environments is no big deal.

if AMD want to reduce size even further then that then they can use their own tools to make the commonJS source AMD compliant outside of this module.

Wrapping your code with UMD seems silly, since UMD is a tooling concern not a source code concern.

I would prefer to be more friendly to the end user by keeping it consistent with Backbone and taking care of the deduplication.

UMD might be a tooling concern but it does impact source code making them not mutually exclusive.
