I encountered this error when connecting a Dual Sense controller :
./evdevhook2-v1.0.2-x86_64.AppImage
Failed to open DualSense Wireless Controller Motion Sensors (/dev/input/event20) - Permission denied
The recommended way to fix this is by creating an appropriate udev rule and/or adding your user to a correct group.
Running as root also works, but is not advised.
This works with sudo but here is the recommended way details:
Create a file under /etc/udev/rules.d/99-dualsense.rules with this content : KERNEL=="event*", ATTRS{name}=="*DualSense*", MODE="0666"
and then:
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules
sudo udevadm trigger
