KNEWS extracts its frame types starting from the output of Boxer and UKB (or alternatively Babelfy). The WordNet synset from UKB is aligned to the event predicate symbol from Boxer, then the WordNet synset is mapped to a FrameNet frame using a pre-existent mapping file.
This mapping is inaccurate and small. The 'resource' directory in the KNEWS repository also contains other mappings, e.g. between BabelNet and WordNet, semantic roles, and others.
