Gleipnir 0.2.1
The battery clamp now writes 100000 µA (100 mA) instead of 0 (Armada's constant_charge_current) or 1000 (the fork's charge_control_limit), after review feedback on armada-os/armada#677 that values that low are below the safe minimum for the Thor and can upset less intelligent chargers.
Re-run the safety test after updating. The verification marker stores the clamp value, so an existing marker (value=0) no longer arms the daemon until gleipnir --test --run passes again.
Tested on one Thor (Armada kernel 7.2.6, 2026-10-24): with the 100000 clamp the charging current fell from 4.5 A to 12-29 mA, then charging resumed after release; the test passed. Not verified: the 0.2-5 W wattage fluctuation the reviewer described (the test measures current, not wattage), the clamp holding at 80 %, and other chargers or builds.
Also in this release: opt-in debug logging (GLEIPNIR_DEBUG=1), the FEX kernel-detection fix and the sleep-clamp hold fix from the changelog. The zip has a single top-level gleipnir/ folder.
Gleipnir 0.2.0
Adds the sleep clamp and its setting to Gleipnir, the 80 % battery charge ceiling for the AYN Thor on Armada OS.
New since 0.1.0
- The cap now holds through native sleep. Armada's native sleep freezes the daemon, so a Thor that slept at 78 % on a charger woke at 88 %.
gleipnir-sleep.serviceclamps just before the suspend. - A setting, in the Decky panel and as
gleipnir --set-sleep-floor N: always hold the cap (default; the Thor then does not charge while asleep), hold from 70 % up, or off. The panel shows Armada's current sleep type and hides the setting in fake sleep, where the daemon keeps running. - A watchdog fix: a game draining the battery with the status still reading Charging no longer disarms the cap.
Tested on one Thor only (Armada 20261006.9c7dd3e, kernel 7.2.6, 2026-10-08): clamp at 80 %, held through a game, charger swaps and sleeps at 60, 76, 79 and 80 %, release at 77 %, charging resumed. Other builds are untested. It starts in watch-only mode and does nothing to charging until its built-in safety test (gleipnir --test --run, charger plugged in) passes on your kernel. Read docs/evidence.md and docs/safety.md first.

Gleipnir 0.1.0
First tagged build of Gleipnir: an 80 % battery charge ceiling for the AYN Thor on Armada OS.
Tested on one Thor only (Armada 20261006.9c7dd3e, kernel 7.2.6, 2026-10-08): clamp at 80 %, held through a game load and charger swaps, released at 77 %, charging resumed, and the cap held through native sleep when the sleep starts at 70 % or more. Below 70 % on a charger the Thor still charges while asleep and can pass the cap. Other builds are untested. It starts in watch-only mode and does nothing to charging until its built-in safety test (gleipnir --test --run, charger plugged in) passes on your kernel. Read docs/evidence.md and docs/safety.md first.
Install: Decky panel > Gleipnir > Install, or scripts/deploy.sh. The zip has a single top-level gleipnir/ folder (Decky plugin layout).
