Confused about Hyper 3 release

Issue

I have been using canary versions of Hyper 3 for quite some time now. Lately there has been a lot of talk about Hyper 3 being "finally released" (including Twitter). I was pretty existed to hear about that. I rushed to the hyper.is website and grabbed the latest version available from the downloads page.

Right after the launch hyper asked me there is a new update available to 3.0.1-canary.4 ? Why is it trying to downgrade my newest "release" version. And more importantly: why is the newest 3.0.2 still called canary if it has been released?

Which one is the newest version? Which one is the "release" ?

Update: ok, disregard the ticket.
This may not be obvious, but preferences need to be updated to stable channel as well.
