pinentry(qt) popups behind vicinae on hyprland. any ideas?

I am running official pass plugin which triggers it quiet often, I'll attach screenshot when timer resets 😇

Unfortunately I could not find any information regarding this problem

I guess the layer surface will always appear on top of any floating window no matter what do you, unless you can maybe apply a specific rule to that specific floating window

well that's on the extension side, how do you figure out whether a pinentry window was created or not? You would have to connect to dbus from the extension which is very cumbersome.

Before, I was using zx2c4 pass with this simple script and even simpler tofi launcher

Then tofi would close itself after selecting an entry and I get password copied in my clipboard using show -c option provided in pass (after unlocking gpg key, if so)

And this script itself was also wrapped in simple .desktop entry so I could call it inside launcher seamlessly

Maybe adding an option to extension which will trigger easier mechanics would resolve this? An idea is that instead of being open whole time, so that after unlocking a key I could choose a meta field to copy, we could fall back to simpler mode, just inserting password from the file which is always the first line of the file by standard. If option enabled, vicinae calls pass and just doesn't render itself no more

Yes, there are some pass extension spesific solution that could work here, since the the gpg command does support passing the password as an argument. Could use a form to ask the user for the password or maybe the dialog in vicinae could support an input field.

But again that would be pass spesific, so would recommend opening an issue on the extension repo for that.
