How would you like to use vllm

I want to run inference Llama 3.1 70B-Instruct using 6 GPU's. I have the following code so far working for 4 GPU's:

from vllm import LLM, SamplingParams

# Parameters
number_gpus = 4
max_model_len = 8192
sampling_params = SamplingParams(temperature=0.6, top_p=0.9, max_tokens=256)
runs = 20  # Number of runs

# Prepare prompt
prompts = [
    "Hello world!"
]

# Paths to model
model_id = r"/home/bizon/Desktop/models/llama3.1/Llama-3.1-70B-Instruct"

# Initialize model
llm = LLM(model=model_id, tensor_parallel_size=number_gpus, max_model_len=max_model_len)

This runs at ~16-17 tokens per second on 4, RTX A6000 GPU's.

If we try running this with tensor_parallel_size=6, we get the following error:

ValueError: Total number of attention heads (64) must be divisible by tensor parallel size (6).

Is there any way to get around this?

I have tried the suggestion of using pipeline_parallel_size, but the performance is very very poor (~4 tokens per second).
