v-repeat over Object - differing behavior when accessing properties via dot vs bracket notation

Not sure if this a bug or not as it could arguably be by design. It seems like v-repeat doesn't like accessing the $key and $value properties using the dot notation but its fine using the brackets notation.

This was a design mistake - $key and $value should never be attached to the data, because the same piece of data can belong to multiple parent objects. In 0.11, $key, $index and $value should always be used directly whether you are using a repeat alias or not, and if you are using an alias, $value will not be available.
