Change `replace` default to `true`?

Seems most of the components I write today need replace: true, want to get an idea of actual usage. +1 if you think this makes sense.

replace=true makes more sense than always creating one extra layer which breaks the readability and semantic structure of html.

Cool, since this is a breaking change it will probably have to wait until 0.12 though.

+1! On the other hand, woult it be possible to not pass any template and prevent the component from replacing its node HTML ? i.e:

<div v-component="the-footer">
   // some content I'd like "the-footer" to use as template
</div>

Was possible in 0.10.6.

I'd say about 50% of less of our components use replace: true.

I'll go through the code base and get a more accurate number.

@ayamflow i reckon you will want to pick the old element up in any lifecycle callback before 'attach', such as 'created'?

also, you may be able to pick up embedded template by using the hash tag:

If it starts with # it will be used as a querySelector and use the selected element’s innerHTML and the template string. This allows the use of the common <script type="x-template"> trick to include templates.

@normanzb My use case is for "easy" SEO, for footer and stuff, so I don't want to use embedded templates or javascript manipulation, basically.
