There is a stackoverflow question regarding the same issue (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/51915755/https-for-mailto-in-html), which states that there's basically no secure mailto protocol, therefore it's better to use backend to send emails, and on the form call backend API instead, which will be secure in this case.

Yup it'll be overally good to have email services through vs-api since (as described in issue it will be more user friendly).

@akbarik can you create module for this in frontend and extension for vs-api ? Probably there should be an option to specify a target email in config and enable option to send confirmation to users mailbox.
