TinyHost has a connector (an MCP server), so an assistant can publish and edit your sites directly. You ask in plain words: "put this page online", "change the phone number on my homepage", "undo that last change".
- A TinyHost account and its API key (it arrives by email when you sign up).
- An assistant that supports MCP connectors, such as Claude.
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Name: TinyHost
- Server URL: https://tiny-web.uk/api/mcp.php
- Under "Request headers", add a header named authorization with the value: Bearer YOUR-API-KEY (the word Bearer, a space, then your key).
- Save. In a chat, switch the connector on from the tools menu.
Then try: "What sites do I have on TinyHost?"
Any MCP client works. Give it the same server URL and send the same header. The transport is Streamable HTTP.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| tinyhost_status | Your plan, your sites, and the trash list of earlier versions |
| tinyhost_list_files | Every file in a site, with sizes and dates |
| tinyhost_read_file | The content of one file |
| tinyhost_edit_file | Replace a piece of text in one file and publish |
| tinyhost_write_files | Add, replace or delete whole files and publish; files not mentioned are kept |
| tinyhost_restore | Bring back an earlier version from trash |
| tinyhost_showcase | Opt a site in or out of the public showcase |
Claude asks for your approval before any tool that changes a site, unless you choose to always allow it.
- Every publish puts the previous version in trash, so any change can be undone.
- Sites are static: html, css, js, json, txt, ico and images. No server-side code.
- The connector uses the same checks and limits as the API. It cannot delete sites, change domains or touch billing.
- Your API key is a password. Anyone who has it can publish to your sites. Put it in the header field, not in the URL, and never paste it into a chat.
