wsup v0.4.0
Know how to work on a registered project
wsup 0.4.0 combines canonical Go source installation with bounded, read-only project inspection. macOS ARM64 is the verified runtime; Go 1.27.3 is required to build from source.
Highlights
wsup projects IDshows the owner, location, literal task commands, direct dependencies/dependents and applicable local instruction/skill paths.wsup projects ID --jsonexposes the same facts in a versioned result. The existing no-ID project listing is unchanged.- Inspection executes no tasks, skills or AI services. Checks remain explicit selections; dependencies are not selected automatically.
- README/help/tutorials lead with registry → project inspection → selected checks → managed-update previews.
- Local packaging verification covers checksums, full notices, provenance and extracted-binary smoke checks. Packaging does not imply a public binary-install channel.
Source compatibility
The Go module is now github.com/wavykit/wsup, previously github.com/brendenchu/wsup. Source consumers must update imports. Historical v0.3.0 source remains on the old path; repository redirects do not reconcile module declarations. The executable remains wsup, with no workspace layout or registry/lock format migration required by this release.
Distribution and acceptance
This is a source-only release: there are no uploaded prebuilt binaries. New binary downloads, signing/notarization, curl and Homebrew distribution remain deferred. Historical v0.3.0 binary assets are unchanged.
The exact release commit passed race tests, vet, standalone workspace/project smokes and local archive verification on macOS ARM64. Released pinned-version and @latest installs must be verified through direct and Go proxy discovery after publication before install-channel announcement. Use the canonical installation guide for verified commands and current status.
WSUP v0.3.0
WSUP 0.3.0 introduces the module-based workspace model: one registry for projects and tasks, selectable collections and agent/editor adapters, and managed updates that preserve owner customizations. The CLI runs locally and never calls an AI service.
Highlights
wsup.jsonversion 3 records projects, tasks and selected modules; committedwsup.lockrecords installed content and baselines.wsup initsupports presets, collections and agent/editor selections.wsup addinstalls modules later, andupdatepreviews changes and conflicts.- Claude and Gemini adapters point at shared
AGENTS.mdinstructions; the VS Code adapter generates folders and tasks from the registry. wsup run PROJECT TASKexecutes a project task;wsup check --allruns registered check tasks.- Selected opt-in collections include scoped research, reference, decisions, journal and release-preparation skills. The default development workspace retains twelve skills.
Breaking changes and migration
Back up your workspace and review the migration guide. With the new binary, preview wsup migrate, resolve conflicts, then apply with wsup migrate --apply. Replaced files are backed up; edited files are preserved, and owner content in renamed folders needs manual review.
workspace.json and .wsup/ become wsup.json and wsup.lock; checks become tasks. AI.md and guidance/rules/ move to AGENTS.md and skills. infrastructure becomes infra, artifacts becomes releases, and private is no longer a collection. Use wsup add/modules instead of collections, and wsup vscode instead of editor.
Download and verification
macOS ARM64 is the verified runtime. Download wsup_0.3.0_darwin_arm64.tar.gz and SHA256SUMS together, verify with shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS, and follow the native binary guide. Download users need no Go toolchain. Packages are unsigned and not notarized; other platforms and live AI-client discovery are not certified by this release.
Verified with Go 1.27.3 on macOS ARM64: race tests, vet, generated-output and lifecycle acceptance, both v0.2.0 fixture migrations, independent nested starters, repeatable binary builds and extracted-binary smoke checks. Full changes are in the changelog.
WSUP 0.2.0
WSUP 0.2.0
Standalone Go CLI with embedded starters. Runtime-verified on macOS ARM64 only.
Reissued release
Reissued with explicit maintainer authorization to include the final repository cleanup, published-binary documentation, optional PATH setup, first-workspace tutorial, and corrected starter-ignore tests. The v0.2.0 tag identifies commit 0485439561a6fb63593900716d1c4d56ff4d4fbc.
The unused duplicate root license was removed; starter attribution and distribution notices remain. Generated output is excluded from the development repository; authored starter inputs remain embedded in the executable. Download the archive and manifest together into a fresh directory. Executable bytes are unchanged; the archive checksum changed with its build provenance.
Download and verify
Download wsup_0.2.0_darwin_arm64.tar.gz and SHA256SUMS, then run:
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS
tar -tzf wsup_0.2.0_darwin_arm64.tar.gzAfter reviewing the listing, extract into a new directory and invoke the executable by explicit path. No Go toolchain, source checkout, installer, or PATH change is required.
Archive SHA-256: 252a26021c7d829199c9f8c0f1d6df3489291bf3534d76502bfbfbf93ba75dc0.
Checksums establish byte identity, not publisher authenticity. This release is unsigned and not notarized.
Compatibility
Only schema-2 managed state is supported; unsupported schemas fail without writes. There is no in-place conversion. Preserve existing workspaces and explicitly transfer reviewed owner content to a new destination when necessary.
Check argv is literal; supply configured tools separately. Unix checks supervise process groups; non-Unix check execution is unsupported. Other runtime targets are not certified. Binary replacement and managed-content updates are separate, with no automatic updater or multi-file transaction/rollback guarantee.
Verification
The maintainer verified the exact source commit with the full race suite, vet, registry validation, and guidance checks using Go 1.27.3 on macOS ARM64. The suite includes isolated native builds, repeatable binary bytes, standalone generation, and starter ignore/license checks.
The rebuilt archive passed checksum verification, extraction, version, initialization, validation, and guidance with empty PATH. The executable is byte-identical to the previously tutorial-verified binary.
Build profile: CGO_ENABLED=0, -trimpath, -buildvcs=false. macOS system libraries remain required. Binary SHA-256: 4ecd895bb07b196ee671f7bf782d277b6891e18247960951ea22368ea30d3911.
