Motivation
Expo 49 is available and the libraries packages and dependencies need to be updated. This addresses those shortcomings and bumps the necessary packages.
Note
As part of regression testing, there appears to be a large gap in the modal. This defect is preexisting and was introduced #258 (comment) I believe.
