Certain enhancements, from my experience I wish I knew sooner:

  • Clarify DTLS (a user needed a clarification in an issue before)
  • Clarify the role of SFU, MCU
  • Clarify signalling to include RTCDataChannel
  • E2EE even when using TURN-relayed connections
  • Not always P2P
  • Interop tests and other such libwebrtc, pion, SipSorcery

ris-work and others added 5 commits December 23, 2024 15:01
Added details on configurable reliability and interoperability tests.
Clarify the roles of codecs, media, and data channels in WebRTC signaling. Specify that TURN may be used for peers behind restrictive NAT, not always P2P.
Added sections on Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU) and Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) to explain their roles in WebRTC. If someone develops a multi-user videoconferencing app, sooner or later they need to know this.
