What problem are you trying to solve?

Now that the internet is decades old, there are many legacy sites with historical knowledge that is outdated. But search engines and LLMs present the old information along with more current information equally.

What solutions exist today?

The most basic solution is to remove content from the internet but then we lose the historical record.

How would you solve it?

Maybe something like , or could indicate that this information is for historical records only.

I don't think a meta tag is necessary for this. Search engines and LLMs can understand natural language declarations just as well. And if you want to completely block them from your site, you can use robots.txt.
