ProDeck v0.9.85
Fixed — a brand-new install crashed on the welcome screen
If you are already running ProDeck, this never affected you. On a fresh install — a new computer, or a first Windows machine — the welcome screen took the whole app down to "ProDeck hit an error" the moment it opened.
It was introduced in 0.9.76 alongside the joining window, and has been broken for every new install since. It stayed invisible because an existing booth never opens that screen, so the first person to install ProDeck somewhere new was always going to be the one who found it.
Found on the first Windows install, by @jpeters0 — who also contributed the whole Windows build track in 0.9.84.
There is now a test that reads every screen in the app and fails the build if this is ever written again. The same mistake had reached a release twice.
Install
- Download ProDeck.dmg, open it, drag ProDeck to Applications.
- First open only (macOS Sequoia/Tahoe): double-click → System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
Runs on Intel and Apple Silicon (macOS 10.15+). Installed copies update themselves from this release automatically.
