TP-Link Archer c7 v2 Stuck on Wifi Pineapple is still booting, didn’t add a pen drive

I was following directions on another site and didn’t fully read the read me here that mentions a pen drive where the other directions didn’t.

i tftp recovery flashed openwrt 19.07.7 factory
And then used the web interface to sysupgrade to the prebuilt archer-c7-v2-universal-system upgrade.bin here
And now when visiting 172.16.42.1:1471 it seems to be stuck on “The WiFi Pineapple is still booting” for a couple hours now.

any recommendations on how I should proceed? Thanks!

You followed the instructions badly because what's happening to you is that you have a corrupt fw install....

I reverted to openwrt 19.07.7 with recover mode.

following your instructions this time, scp’ing fails with ash: /usr/libexec/sftp-server: not found

P.S. had to add -oHostKeyAlgotithms=+shh-rsa to connect

Added -O to prevent scp switching to sftp, continuing..
