rudbman 0.3.4 — IBM Db2 as a built-in driver, the DDL of every object laid out for reading, a text cell that opens in the multiline editor, and a scrollbar and tab list on every pane strip.

  • IBM Db2 is a built-in driver. The eighth built-in definition uses IBM's JCC driver and a Db2 dialect: unquoted names fold to upper case, results page with OFFSET … ROWS FETCH FIRST … ROWS ONLY, a table is renamed with RENAME TABLE, and a batch that leaves a table in reorg pending ends with a REORG. Sequences and triggers are listed, and a failed statement shows the server's message instead of codes only. An existing configuration gains Db2 once, and a built-in its user deleted stays deleted.
  • Every object shows its DDL. The explorer gains a Triggers folder, and tables, views, procedures, functions, sequences and triggers each show their CREATE text: the server's own where it has one, otherwise rebuilt from the catalog under a banner saying so. A view shows its query instead of the CREATE TABLE its columns rebuilt into. Checked against PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite and H2.
  • DDL is laid out for reading. One column or partition to a line, a view's query laid out as Format SQL lays it out, a routine's parameters and characteristics one to a line with its body indented by block, and a sequence's options one to a line. MySQL's and MariaDB's DEFINER clauses are left out. Only the whitespace between tokens and the case of keywords change.
  • Routines are listed once. MySQL, MariaDB and SQL Server no longer list every function twice, and SQL Server's ;0/;1 numbers are gone.
  • The explorer lists what was missing. MariaDB sequences appear under their database on 10.x and 11.x alike, SQL Server sequences are listed, materialized views are listed with views, and a sequence shows its cycle flag. PostgreSQL lists only the connected database instead of repeating its schemas under every database, and MySQL lists each foreign key once.
  • A text cell opens in the multiline editor. The field over a text column has a button at its right-hand end that opens the editor a multiline cell opens, starting from what had been typed; a changed text is staged as an edit.
  • Pane tab strips have a scrollbar and a tab list. A crowded strip shows the overlay scrollbar, an All tabs button lists every tab, and a newly active tab is scrolled into view. The connection strip shows the tab list its tooltip named, and the pane strip's close button reads Close tab.
  • Every dropdown list has a scrollbar. A long list in the connection, extract and transfer dialogs and the query builder shows the overlay scrollbar while it scrolls or while the pointer rests on its right edge.
  • The SQL and DDL editors draw tabs to tab stops. The buffer keeps its tabs, so the SQL that runs is unchanged. Tooltips open clear of the pointer, and a single-line field keeps its caret in view.
  • The whole color format message shows. The theme editor's "Every color has to be written as #RRGGBB." no longer ends mid-sentence in all eight locales, and the extract and backup dialogs' DDL option reads "Include the definitions (DDL)".
  • The wording is the same in all eight locales. Each concept gets one term in every locale, register mixing (German du, Spanish usted), French typography and Russian plural forms are fixed, and the English, the docs and the messages use US spelling.
  • Shared libraries are updated to rugpui 0.1.13 and rudbkit 0.1.6. Both are pinned to their published release commits.

Requirements

  • Linux: glibc 2.35 or newer: Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and later, or a distribution built on them, MX Linux 23 among them.
