Concerning the article - it's well known and rather disputable, as you can see in comments.
Especially Fix vs Fixed question.
I'm not sure if there's a Yiisoft convention about git comments style.
Maybe @samdark can tell more.

Concerning keepachangelog - it's fine. But IMHO grouping is not! And changelog is already mostly fine as it is.

Anyway, it would be good to have conventions agreed and published.

Yeah, I personally like current Yii change log style, it's good enough and is quite readable. The reason I proposed it is that it may become as popular as semver in future (or may not), so I wanted to know your opinion on this.

I have a personal preference for angular commit conventions. When used strictly, changelog & even releases can be automated using a multitude of available tools, like:
