Breaking changes

Setting a field to None now sends null instead of omitting the field. The client is now generated with openapi-generator 7.27.0 (was 7.23.0). The API spec marks many fields as nullable, but the old generator dropped that on about 120 model fields, such as memo, payee_id, payee_name and category_id on transactions, and note and goal_target on categories.

In 4.4.1, ynab.ExistingTransaction(memo=None, payee_name="Store").to_dict() returned {"payee_name": "Store"}, so the memo was left unchanged. In 5.0.0 it returns {"payee_name": "Store", "memo": None}, which clears the memo. Code that passes None to mean "leave this field alone" needs to leave the field out instead. Fields that are not passed, including keys missing from a dict given to from_dict, are still omitted. Reading attributes on responses is unaffected, but to_dict() on a response model now includes keys whose value is null. (#114)

New

  • update_category with ExistingCategory(goal_target=None) now removes an existing target, which the nullability fix above makes possible. (#114)
  • import_transactions is deprecated and raises a DeprecationWarning. YNAB imports linked-account transactions automatically, and the endpoint now always returns an empty list of transaction ids. (#114)
  • ynab.__version__ and the default User-Agent now report the installed version. They reported 4.2.0 in 4.3.0 through 4.4.1. (#114)
  • Generated from API spec 1.88.0. (#114)
