Balanced collapsed proportions
The collapsed pill now uses a 12 × 64 pt visible body, a 3 × 28 pt green activity core, and a 20 × 80 pt transparent pointer target.
The black-and-green styling and gentle breathing animation continue. The updated size improves visibility and pointer access along the screen edge.
Local policy checks and a live task read passed. The installed app's collapsed appearance and expansion interaction were checked directly.

A much smaller collapsed widget
The collapsed card is now a 6 × 40 pt translucent black pill, with a narrow green core. Its transparent pointer target is 12 × 56 pt.
- The green core gently breathes while tasks are running, with a roughly 2.8-second cycle.
- Idle and standby states use a dim core.
- Hover or click to expand the task card.
- Reduce Motion uses a steady activity core.
The black-and-mint appearance matches the expanded TaskPulse card. Local policy checks and a live task read passed. A transparent rendered preview was inspected.

Quiet standby and recovery
- A readable WAL-mode database with cleaned-up WAL/SHM sidecars can return SQLite CANTOPEN with errno 2 on macOS. TaskPulse now displays Waiting for Codex for this specific state, using a neutral standby indicator and automatic refresh.
- Database activity recreating the sidecars resumes task display automatically.
- Standby detection checks the SQLite WAL header, main-file readability, missing sidecars, and error codes. Detection is based on the observed database state.
- The Connection diagnostics copied notice clears when a successful refresh restores the connection.
- Regression coverage includes a closed WAL database, recovery when a writer becomes active, missing database errors, and notification cleanup through the normal refresh completion path.
Verification
The database and UI-state regression checks pass locally. English and Chinese live reads returned the same task counts. The installed app was checked after recovery, with the copied-diagnostics notice cleared.

Database connection reliability and diagnostics
- Explicitly enable SQLite URI handling when opening the local connection. This fixes a reproduced case where attaching the read-only history URI failed with SQLite CANTOPEN when the process-wide URI default was disabled.
- Bind the history filename as a statement parameter, including paths with spaces, quotes, percent signs, and non-ASCII characters.
- Wait up to one second for SQLite locks and reopen once after a transient read failure. Regular two-second refreshes continue automatically.
- Show the failed database filename and read stage in the error panel, with an awaiting-sync status during outages.
- Add Copy connection diagnostics to the error panel and settings. Reports include SQLite/OS error codes, file readability metadata, consecutive failure count, and last successful refresh time.
- Add an isolated regression covering URI defaults, special path characters, missing history files, and recovery after restoration.
Historical intermittent incidents lacked detailed error codes. The confirmed URI defect is repaired, and new diagnostic captures can identify any remaining causes.
Verification
The database regression and existing policy/language/layout checks pass locally. Twelve consecutive reads of live local data succeeded. The widget's active and unread counts matched the desktop app.

修复已复现的 SQLite 历史库 URI 打开失败问题，增加短暂失败重试和具体文件／阶段提示。错误面板及设置中新增“复制连接诊断”，可记录 SQLite 与系统错误码、文件可读性和最近成功时间，供后续排查。
历史截图的错误来源仍需新的诊断信息确认。本机已验证 12 次真实数据读取成功，任务与未读数量和 Codex 界面一致。
TaskPulse v0.3.0 · English & Chinese, following your system
English by default. Chinese when your system prefers it.
TaskPulse now follows your macOS preferred language: Chinese when the first preferred language is Chinese; English for everything else. French, Japanese, German, and other languages fall back to English for now.
What's new
- English and Chinese interface: task sections, menus, tooltips, accessibility labels, status/error messages, and elapsed time.
- An English project homepage and English demo screenshot, with a separate Chinese README and preview.
- Language changes preserve real conversation titles and existing task ordering/read-state rules.
- Checks for preferred-language selection, English fallback, and translation coverage.
The language setting follows macOS; quit and reopen TaskPulse if macOS requests an app restart after a language change. There is no manual language setting inside the widget.

Download TaskPulse.dmg and drag TaskPulse.app to Applications, replacing the previous version. ZIP and SHA-256 checksums are also provided. macOS 15+, Universal arm64/x86_64. Intel is cross-compiled, not yet verified on Intel hardware.
The app remains ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Follow the repository's installation and privacy notes. The existing Asia/Shanghai date/filter rule is unchanged by language selection.

新增完整中英文界面，规则为：系统首选语言是中文时显示中文，其余语言统一显示英文。GitHub 默认介绍和演示图改为英文，保留中文版入口。真实任务标题保留原文，任务排序、已读规则和北京时间口径保持一致。
