Hello,
I’m currently using Zed and have noticed that the Project Panel remains open after opening a file. In editors like Neovim, plugins such as
neo-tree,nvim-tree, andsnacks.exploreroffer an option to automatically close the file explorer upon opening a file. It’s worth mentioning that, by default, these plugins behave like Zed (i.e., the panel stays open), but they provide a configuration setting to enable auto-close behavior.I’d like to request a similar feature in Zed — the ability to auto-close the Project Panel when a file is opened, optionally controlled via a setting. This would allow users to tailor their experience and help keep the workspace clean and focused.
Thank you for considering this feature request. 😸
