I feel similarly – I appreciate that updates are released regularly, but I find it hard to ignore a "Click to Update Zed" message (might be a security patch!) and so this becomes a daily chore, in which I need to re-arrange all of my Zed windows (often multiple) to their correct desktops on macOS, because macOS doesn't restore that on restart. For me personally, any method of seeing this prompt "less often" would be fine, configured as the Zed team prefers. Not sure if Major/Minor/Patch is the right criteria, since critical security fixes typically should be Patch releases. |

I just search for "zed less frequent updates" and came here. It's great that the software is updated frequently but updating on basically daily basis is annoying. More so when Zed tauts that it's "the fastest" yet each day when I open Zed it takes significantly longer to open because it's performing the update… I wouldn't mind once a week or even once a month bigger update… |

I understand it is important to keep the program up-to-date. I really appreciate the frequent updates - that is great.
However, it is a bit annoying to see the "Click to update Zed" message for every patch level release. We should be able to disable auto updates and configure the message.
Add a new setting that only shows the update message for major or minor updates or whatever is configured by the user.
