What are you proposing?

Having the Eclipse keymap (keyboard shortcuts) available in Zed.

Why does this matter?

Eclipse was very popular back in the day, and many developers still use this keymap even when using other IDEs (e.g. JetBrains).

It would make the transition from other IDEs seamless for users who are accustomed to this keymap.

Are there any examples or context?

JetBrains IDEs for example allows you to install various keymaps that are specific to other IDEs.

Possible approach

It should be straightforward to map IDE functions to the specific Eclipse key combinations.

I confirm that I learned programming using Eclipse and I always kept my keymap in all the other editors I used, even Visual Studio Code has a plugin for eclipse keymap.
I would be very happy to be able to select this keymap in Zed.

same for me. I don't see the added values of learning other keymaps apart from pair programming (which is not what I do). When I switched from eclipse to intellij I kept the key bindings for eclipse. Would be nice to have them too. Is there any one who has an JSOn for these eclipse key bindings as a starting point so I don't have to create them myself?

Same here can't switch or even try zed without it. Was thinking but without eclipse keymaps no way to even think about trying it.

A workaround would be custom keymap that is auto generated from vscode keymap (where you can have eclipse one as input...)
