Improve "Configure an LLM provider" message and process to do so

What are you proposing?

When trying to write a commit message, I see "Configure an LLM provider to generate commit messages," but I don't get any guidance on how to do that.

I open up the settings window and search "LLM," but there are no results.

So what am I supposed to do?

Why does this matter?

The app is telling me to do something, but it doesn't provide me with a clear way to solve the problem.

What problem does this solve?

It makes the app confusing

I can't figure this out either.

I tried setting "commit_message_model" in settings as well, but the error message still exists in the UI.

@funkju Check out https://zed.dev/docs/git?highlight=Commit%20ai#ai-support-in-git. This helped me figure out the config to set up in the zed settings.json

Did not work for me, still the Generate Commit Message button is greyed out with the error message:
"Configure an LLM provider to generate commit messages"

Edit: Somehow it works now, I don't know how and why.

So is this an open defect? No settings changes seem to do anything.

In general it's working with the settings snippet, but in my case, the problem was that I chose a model that was available but not supported by Zed. They're often not up to date: #58743 #59097

There's also seemingly no documentation anywhere showing how to configure git commits with an agent using ACP.
