Properties of extended types cant be referenced in @@index

I have a simple setup with 2 zmodel files, schema.zmodel that imports types from base.zmodel.

The following will error out:

import "base"

model SomeModel extends BaseType {
  // ...
  
  // Could not resolve reference to ReferenceTarget named 'some_field_from_base_type'.zmodel-v3 
  @@index([some_field_from_base_type])
}

If the BaseType is defined in the same file - the reference works.

Hi @EcksDy , I think defining an index with fields from delegate base is not a supportable scenario because physically in the DB, the fields don't exist on the sub model tables. I'll need to check why it's not always rejected by the compiler ...

Do you have a specific reason for not defining the index on the base?

My use case is composite indexes, where one column is from the base and one from the specific model.
What you're saying makes sense though, which means my workaround of defining base types in the same file achieves nothing.
Zenstack makes it easy to forget that there are underlying tables behind all of that magic :)
