I am on windows 11 and I tried on ubuntu wsl too and I am using a nerd font "CaskaydiaCove nerd font mono"
my problem is I cant see fifa world cup flags emoji

This is probably related to the terminal app you are using. You shouldn't need to change fonts on your end.

Sharing a screenshot also helps as well, for me to take a look at this.

On Windows, this is usually about emoji rendering, not the Nerd Font itself.

Country flags are emoji sequences made from regional-indicator characters. CaskaydiaCove Nerd Font Mono is good for icons/powerline glyphs, but Nerd Fonts generally do not add color country-flag emoji support. The terminal/OS emoji fallback renderer has to support those flag sequences.

What I would check:

• In Windows Terminal / PowerShell, paste a flag like 🇦🇷 or 🇫🇷. If it shows as two letters, Golazo cannot fix that with a different mono font.
• In real Linux, try a terminal with emoji fallback to Noto Color Emoji installed. WSL inside Windows Terminal still uses the Windows-side renderer, so it may behave like Windows.
• If you need guaranteed display on Windows, the app would likely need a non-emoji fallback such as country codes or small text labels.

So the short answer is: use your Nerd Font for the TUI glyphs, but flag emoji support depends on the terminal/OS emoji renderer, not only the selected terminal font.

That distinction should save other Windows users from chasing more font installs.
