Key facts

• Gen8 Preview images. generate_image with imageModel: "next" runs the preview of our next image engine: up to 6 references kept natively, legible text, long literal prompts, the same quality ids. Holder and up — get_account reports canUseImageNext and qualities.imageNext; every reference adds a surcharge on both image models.
• Gen8 Preview video. generate_video with videoModel: "next" runs the preview of our next video engine: clips with sound, from a first frame plus up to 6 references that stay consistent, and since 1.6.0 an audio reference of yours (upload_audio an MP3, then audioCreationId as music or a voice sample). get_account lists the lengths and presets the account may submit — fast and 1 to 10 s from Holder, every preset and up to 20 s at Founder.
• npm 2dai-mcp-server. Runs locally over stdio via npx — nothing to install permanently. Node 18+.
• One API key. Created at 2dai.io → Dashboard → Integrations → API keys, passed as the TWODAI_API_KEY environment variable — never as a tool argument.
• 24 tools, least privilege. Keys are scoped (read, generate, manage, publish, opt-in finance); a tool your key doesn't cover returns an actionable error, not a crash.
• Generation spends real credit. Everything else — listing, stats, downloads, organising, wallet reads — is free. The server tells agents to check get_account before proposing work.
• The model can see what it made. Finished images come back as inline downscaled previews, so the agent can look at the result and iterate; full-resolution bytes only ever go to disk.
• Recommended presets. Images: max (best balance of detail and price), ultimate for the highest resolution. Video: ultra at 5 seconds — several short shots beat one long take. get_account lists what your tier may use.
• A skill for your agent. The npm package ships skills/2dai/SKILL.md — the platform guide (quality ladder, costs, the film recipe, the brand-consistency recipe, what not to do). Point your agent runtime at it.
• Wallet data is read-only, structurally. No tool on this server can deposit, withdraw, swap or lock — see Stats & Wallet.
• Built on 2dai-cloud-sdk. Creations made through this server are labelled MCP in the dashboard and collected under Cloud Drive → MCP. If you'd rather script the API directly from TypeScript (or any language over REST), use the SDK.
• Proprietary Gen 7.2 stack on 2DAI's private cloud — same weights the studio uses, not resold third-party access. See About the Models.
