Backup to local on version 7.x.x and restore to another 7.x.x version

I have a question regarding backup and restore compatibility within the 7.x.x versions.

Is it supported to:

create a local backup on one version (e.g. 7.x.x),

and then perform a local restore on another version within the same major branch (e.g. a different 7.x.x release)?

Could this process cause any issues or inconsistent behavior on the client side after the restore?

I would like to understand whether this scenario is officially supported and if there are any known limitations or risks.
