Note

Ensure you uninstall your current installation of DynamicWin first for this release as it may mess up your configurations.
However, this does not mean that your settings will be cleared. Everything will remain intact once you update to this release.

What's New to DynamicWin v1.2.0b:

  • More null-check handling
  • WeatherAPI 2.0 and WeatherWidget 2.0
  • More naming convention adjustments
  • DWMultiSelectionButton.cs adjustments
  • Quality-of-life optimisations and improvements

Null checks

Null exceptions still occur on buttons when logic is not yet implemented on them. New null-checks have been added to DWButton.cs and DWMultiSelectionButton.cs.

WeatherAPI 2.0 and WeatherWidget 2.0

Previous implementation of WeatherAPI and WeatherWidget only displays the weather forecast based on the user's geo-location.
WeatherAPI 2.0 and WeatherWidget 2.0 is an overhaul of the previous implementation, allowing users to change the weather location for the first time.

Tip

Any existing configurations from the previous implementation will automatically carry over to the new implementation.

Quality-of-life optimisations and improvements

While performance is still an issue to a lot of users, some implementations have been adjusted to run asynchronously. This begins with the newly implemented WeatherAPI.cs and WeatherWidget.cs.

For future developers and maintainers

  • While most of the code-base is currently unreadable due to the lack of developer comments explaining what each code does, I have included comments on some of the files for better readability and clarity starting with WeatherAPI.cs and WeatherWidget.cs.
  • Even though this is a slow start, expect more developer/maintainer comments to populate the code-base in the upcoming months.
