v0.9.3.0: FSE Home App Setup Guidance

This release improves the experience when OmniConsole cannot start in Full Screen Experience mode, providing clear on-screen setup steps and direct shortcuts to get everything configured.

✨ What's New in This Release

  • Setup Guidance Screen:
    • When Full Screen Experience is not ready, OmniConsole now displays setup guidance with dedicated buttons instead of a single error message.
    • If Full Screen Experience is not enabled, two steps are shown: Step 1 launches Xbox Full Screen Experience Tool directly if already installed, or opens the download page otherwise; Step 2 opens the Windows Settings Full Screen Experience page to set OmniConsole as the home app.
    • If Full Screen Experience is enabled but OmniConsole is not set as the home app (e.g., Xbox App is set instead), only Step 2 is shown with a precise instruction.
    • All buttons are accessible with a gamepad. OmniConsole remains open so users can complete the steps before restarting the app.

🛠️ Installation Instructions

  1. Go to Settings → System → Advanced and enable Developer Mode.
  2. Download OmniConsole_0.9.3.0_x64.msix and OmniConsole_0.9.3.0_x64.cer from the Assets below.
  3. Double-click the .cer file → click Install Certificate → Store Location: Local Machine → Place all certificates in the following store → Browse → select Trusted People → Finish. (Skip this step if you already have the certificate installed)
  4. Double-click the .msix file to install.

⚙️ Prerequisites

  • Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.7019)+ with Full Screen Experience (FSE) enabled.
  • Desktops, Laptops, Tablets & Handhelds without native FSE: Use Xbox Full Screen Experience Tool to enable FSE first.
  • Native FSE Handheld Devices (e.g., ROG Xbox Ally series): FSE is natively supported. Install OmniConsole directly.

  • 設定引導畫面：
    • 當全螢幕體驗尚未就緒時，OmniConsole 現在會以引導按鈕取代單一錯誤訊息。
    • 若全螢幕體驗尚未啟用，顯示兩個步驟：步驟 1 若已安裝 Xbox Full Screen Experience Tool 則直接啟動，否則開啟下載頁面；步驟 2 開啟 Windows 設定中的全螢幕體驗頁面，將 OmniConsole 設為主畫面應用程式。
    • 若全螢幕體驗已啟用但主畫面應用程式設為其他應用程式（例如 Xbox App），則僅顯示步驟 2 並附上精確的操作說明。
    • 所有按鈕均支援手把操作。完成步驟後手動重新啟動 OmniConsole 即可進入全螢幕體驗。

🛠️ 安裝說明

  1. 前往設定 → 系統 → 進階，啟用開發人員模式。
  2. 從下方 Assets 下載 OmniConsole_0.9.3.0_x64.msix 與 OmniConsole_0.9.3.0_x64.cer。
  3. 點兩下 .cer 檔案 → 點選安裝憑證 → 存放區位置選擇本機電腦 → 將所有憑證放入以下的存放區 → 瀏覽 → 選擇受信任的人 → 完成。（若您之前已安裝過，則無需重複此步驟。）
  4. 點兩下 .msix 檔案進行安裝。

⚙️ 前置條件

  • Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.7019)+，且已啟用全螢幕體驗 (FSE) 功能。
  • 桌機、筆電、平板及未內建 FSE 的掌機：請先使用 Xbox Full Screen Experience Tool 啟用 FSE 功能。
  • 原生 FSE 掌機裝置（例如 ROG Xbox Ally 系列）：已原生支援 FSE，可直接安裝 OmniConsole。
