Released July 7th, 2024
Changes from v1.1 to v1.2:
- Coins got changed from RGBA16 textures to IA16 for the sake of optimisation
- The HUD has been updated to match magazine scans and footage more closely
- Many unused assets and models have been removed to improve memory and buffer usage
- Many behaviours have been re-done to improve the overall stability of the hack
- The game's intro cutscene has been added back along with Peach's model
- Mario's punching ability got reverted back to how it was in the vanilla game as there is no proof it was the same as in the Shoshinkai 1995 demo
- Most Gigaleak models (including Mario) have been re-imported for the sake of optimisation
- Instrument '08.aiff' (the main snare used throughout the game) got its volume and pitch changed to match how it sounds in E3 1996 B-ROLL footage
- Many of Mario's pre-release animations have been recreated
- Mario64_logo was given the vanilla game's pop-up animation as there is no proof that it was different than in the final
- xerox's remake of the title theme is now being used
- The February build now uses the Nintendo logo from the Shoshinkai 1995 demo
- Bob-Omb Battlefield's model has been re-imported to match pre-release media more closely
- xerox's remake of the Chain Chomp behaviour is now being used
- An issue with the Goombas' behaviour has been fixed
- Collision issues Whomp's Fortress had back in v1 and v1.1 have been fixed
- Hoot now behaves like in the Shoshinkai 1995 demo
- Dosun was given a square shadow like in E3 1996 B-ROLL footage
- Wallman has been reimported to look the way he was intended to (not necessarily accurate, but he looks better)
- In Jolly Roger Bay, a mostly completed recreation of the early entrance seen in the Hiroshi Yamauchi interview footage has been added
- The objects in Jolly Roger Bay have been edited to match footage of the build mentioned above
- A missing tweester in Shifting Sand Land has been added back
- Pokey's textures have been updated
- The Big Boo's Balcony star now spawns in the balcony like in the Gigaleak star coordinates
- A half-arsed recreation of the early Rainbow Ride level seen in Spring 1996 magazine scans has been added (still heavily unfinished)
- All of Rainbow Ride's stars have been removed to match the star count in the romhacking.com page
- Fixed the crash that happens after getting the final Bowser key.
