Massive Extinction event (Tm)

Adrián A. Davín edited this page Aug 18, 2020 · 2 revisions

This model allows the user to simulate a massive extinction event. At a given time, every extant lineage will become with a probability p. The situation then proceeds normally with the given speciation and extinction rates.

An example of a tree simulated with the Tm mode (Complete tree on the left, Extant tree on the right)

Example Tm Example Tm

Parameters

MASS_EXTINCTION 4-0.95

The first number represents the time at which the mass extinction takes place (in this case 4), the second number is the extinction probability of every lineage at that point
