Automatic Shipping Calculator

I'm thinking I want the shipping cost that we don't have on there now, to be calculated automatically, not sure if there's a system or something we need to add, but other companies can automatically calculate shipping, by zip code entry. If that makes sense, I know this could be very difficult :)
