Gaps in the GOES Dataset | 6 Years of data missing

Dear Organizers,

when investigating the provided datasets I noticed that there are huge gaps in the GOES Data. Specifically, all the data from 2007-04-13 until 2013-06-07 is missing. The files exist, but they are empty. A random example would be goes-01531-20070413_to_20070612.csv. Another gap is from 2014-12-30 to 2015-01-13.

Surely this cannot be intentional, as a 6-year data gap means that the GOES Data is essentially useless for training?

That's a good catch! It looks like we were missing source files for the specific GOES satellites responsible for that coverage. We will fix in the upcoming days and/or next week.

The GOES data for those gaps should be replaced with new files in the Dropbox!

Is it possible for you to split the data into different folders? Right now, I cannot download the GOES folder because it is too large for a single download (according to dropbox). And dropbox does not offer me any convenient option to just select certain file ranges...
