Screen readers and localization

I'm just wondering, should accessibility names be localized before passing them to accesskit? I assume yes but just wanted to double check.

Hi @geom3trik, what do you mean by "accessibility names"? Most (if not all) string properties on Node should be localized if possible. Following an earlier description I presume you are referring to Node::role_description, which must be localized if possible as screen readers for instance will present it as is to the user.

Yes sorry I forgot that I called it name in vizia but I actually meant label, for controls that don’t have their own text like icon-only buttons. But you’ve answered my question so thank you!
