System Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Intel processor
- .NET 8.0 Runtime (installer will prompt if not present)
Installation & Usage
- Download and unzip the release
- Run
ProtoViewer.exe - If prompted, install .NET 8.0 Runtime (required)
⚠️ Important Notes
This is a very early alpha release with limited testing. Please report any issues to our Discord community.
Save your work: If you create something you like, export it immediately to OBJ or MF3 format for safekeeping.

- Edge line rendering highlights hard edges and silhouettes on mesh surfaces. Toggle visibility with the "Edges" checkbox in the Layers toolbar
Changed
- Curved surfaces now render with smooth shading instead of faceted appearance
Fixed
- Capsule radius widgets now appear correctly always
- Widget and edit point picking feels more natural
- Camera orbit no longer jumps or reverses direction when viewing from top-down angles
- Occasional data-losslesss crash when Alt+Tab while typing in numeric input fields (Position, dimensions, etc.)

Focus Pointer for precise placement! Click to place a 3D cursor that snaps to surfaces, then move objects exactly where you
want them. Copy with C, paste with V at the pointer location. -
New primitives: Cone and Torus shapes join the toolkit.

Drag-and-drop import: Drop 3D files directly into the viewport - even ZIP archives with multiple models.

Rendering modes: Switch between Studio (clear visualization) and Present (presentation-quality) modes from the View menu.

Tessellation control: Adjust mesh density via Model → Tessellation. Use lower resolution while editing large models, then set
to High or Ultra before export. -
Six-axis widget: Quick axis alignment with color-coded directions replaces the individual alignment buttons.

Parts tree: See your model's structure and boolean relationships in the new hierarchical view.
