World Cup 2026 v4.1.1
🏆 World Cup 2026 Integration v4.1.1 Beta
What's New
🧪 Beta: Live Match Minutes
A new optional live-minute system has been added for testing.
The integration can now use a secondary API source to add live match minutes to the public GitHub data feed.
When active, live matches can display:
🟢 12'
🟢 45'
🟢 67'
instead of only showing:
🟢 LIVE
⏱️ Important
Live match minutes are intentionally updated every 5 minutes to reduce API usage.
This only affects the displayed match minute.
Match scores, match status, results and all standard World Cup data continue to update using the main football-data.org feed at approximately 1-minute intervals during live matches.
Example:
- Goal scored at 63' → score updates normally via the main feed.
- Match clock may still show 60' until the next 5-minute refresh.
- The score is always prioritised over the clock display.
🧪 Beta: Goal Event Data
Goal event support has also been added for testing.
This allows live match data to include goal events such as:
⚽ Player Name 23'
⚽ Player Name 68'
The aim is to display goal scorers and goal minutes on Live and Results pages once the data is available.
This feature is still being tested and depends on live API data being returned correctly during active matches.
🔁 GitHub Feed Enhancement
Live minutes and goal events are designed to be written into the existing GitHub matches.json feed.
This means users do not need to provide their own secondary API key.
The main integration still uses the standard World Cup data feed for:
✅ Fixtures
✅ Results
✅ Scores
✅ Groups
✅ Standings
✅ Golden Boot
✅ Statistics
The secondary live API is only used for:
🟢 Live match minute
⚽ Goal event data
☕ Support Page Updated
The Support page now includes both donation options:
☕ Ko-fi
💳 PayPal
Ko-fi has been added as an alternative for users who prefer card payments or do not use PayPal.
📌 Current Beta Notes
This is a test release for live-minute and goal-event handling.
The new beta data will only appear when a match is live and the secondary API returns matching fixture data.
If no live match is active, no minute or goal-event data will be added.
Previous Improvements Included
✅ Results page fixed
✅ Dedicated Results feed
✅ Fixtures and Results separated
✅ Live match statuses improved
✅ Half Time status display
✅ Dashboard remembers last viewed page
✅ Live games ticker support
✅ Automatic refresh improvements
