AetherSerialBridge v1.2.0
AetherSerialBridge puts serial-only station gear (Elecraft KAT500, KPA500, KXPA100 and similar) on the network as raw TCP for AetherSDR: one TCP port per device, from a station PC (Windows) or a Linux box / Raspberry Pi.
v1.2.0 is the first release from the AetherSDR organisation. Originally written by Ozy (K6OZY) at cloaked.agency.
What's new in 1.2
- The project lives at AetherSDR/AetherSerialBridge. Links, update checks and docs now point here.
- Linux: the polkit identifiers are now
org.aethersdr.aetherserialbridge.*(they wereagency.cloaked.aetherserialbridge.*). Install, update and uninstall remove the old policy file if it is still there. - Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps names AetherSDR as the publisher.
Upgrading from 1.1.0 or earlier
- Linux: uninstall the old version, then install this release. Your settings are kept. See docs/linux.md.
- Earlier builds check their old home for updates, so they won't offer 1.2.0 on their own. Download it from this page.
What it does
- One program for Windows and Linux: a headless command line, a terminal UI and a desktop window, with a native service on each (SCM on Windows, systemd on Linux).
- Install, update and uninstall from the window. On Windows it runs elevated and appears in Installed apps. On Linux and the Pi each step asks for one polkit prompt.
- Built-in help in the terminal UI and the window. Follows AetherSDR's theme.
