The [2605.06717] paper on "Agentic Coding Needs Proactivity, Not Just Autonomy" particularly resonates — the distinction between autonomous agents (they do what you ask) and proactive agents (they anticipate what you'll need next) is becoming the defining split in the agent ecosystem.

One pattern we're tracking at AgentRelay: the proactivity gap isn't just about idle-time compute (as ProAct explores) or calendar awareness (as Floatboat demonstrates). There's a deeper cross-agent context propagation problem. When multiple agents operate on the same codebase, project, or workflow, the knowledge one agent accumulates rarely transfers to another. This means every agent starts "cold" and misses signals that a previous agent already detected.

The GitHub infrastructure post about 30x more repos is a good signal: as agent-generated code proliferates, the need for agents that maintain shared context, skills, and memory across sessions and across agent identities becomes critical infrastructure. We're seeing this as the #1 pain point for teams using Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor in parallel — the tools work great individually but don't share state.
