Major Project · Bachelor of Engineering · Semester VIII
The final year project: an interactive visualisation of the QuadTree data structure, showing how recursive spatial partitioning reduces the work of collision detection. Built at Terna Engineering College, University of Mumbai, and defended on 25 April 2022.

Checking every particle against every other is quadratic, and at a few hundred bodies that is already too slow to watch. The QuadTree only compares particles that share a region, so the cost follows how the particles are actually distributed rather than how many there are. Watching the grid subdivide as they crowd together is the clearest way to see why.
