What happens when an instance stops running?

Answer:

When you stop instance or shut down your data is lost. Solution for this is to create image(Amazon machine image -AMI) of that instance at this stage. It will freeze your data and save it to amazon S3 bucket as an AMI. When we run this image it will give us same instance with same configuration and data.

What happens when you reboot an instance and what can you do?

Answer:

When we reboot an instance or stop instance the public IP assigned to that instance will be changed and this will be big problem when you work in team and you have to give public IP every time after reboot instance or stop instance. Solution to this problem is that allocate elastic IP to EC2 instance. This will be static IP and it will remain so you do not have to update every time after rebooting the instance.
