My name is Ana, and I currently live near Portland, OR and I have been successfuly working remotely since the pandemic!
I have extensive experience in research, including kidney/liver transplant clinical trials, immunology, oncology and immunotherapy research from bench to bioinformatics analysis. As a bench scientist, I have developed fundamental molecular skills related to biobanking, cryopreservation, logistics, clinical trials, and flow cytometry analysis. Since graduating with a Master's in Bioinformatics in 2020, I have worked mostly with single cell transcriptomics (10x Genomics) technologies.
I have worked with different versions of this technology, including multimodal analysis using scRNAseq, CITE-seq, HTO (hashtag), TCR-seq, some scATAC-seq, and recently, snRNAseq for non-immune cells. I have utilized various platforms for large-scale computing, such as HPCs, AWS, and Databricks. Most of the analysis tools my team used were centered around Bioconductor R packages and the R language for creating reports and reproducible analyses (Shiny, FlexDashboard, Rmarkdown). I have also used python, and other tools from the scverse as part of research and development for building analytical pipelines. My most recent project in 2025 involved a large international collaborative project between multiple centers in Europe to analyze snRNAseq data from 150 baseline human samples with metabolic liver disease.
I am currently looking for my next career opportunity and would love to connect π€
