Suggestion for a music app replacement. #407

I understand the suggestion, and I agree that Gapless looks more powerful and feature-rich. However, one of the core ideas behind AnduinOS is to provide a clean canvas and leave users plenty of room to choose, customize, and replace things according to their own preferences. In that sense, Amberol fits the philosophy of AnduinOS almost perfectly. AnduinOS itself tries to provide a desktop that is secure, stable, fast, and beautiful — and that's it. It does not try to decide everything for the user or bundle every possible feature by default. Amberol follows a very similar philosophy: it provides a beautiful way to play music — and that's it. No library management, no large feature set, no unnecessary complexity. It is extremely clean and focused. Of course, if someone prefers a more powerful player such as Gapless, AnduinOS does absolutely nothing to prevent that. Users are completely free to replace Amberol with Gapless, or any other music player they prefer. So I think Gapless is a great application, but for the default installation, Amberol currently aligns better with the design philosophy of AnduinOS. |

I really like this approach as well. From a contributor/staff perspective, I think keeping the default installation clean and focused makes a lot of sense. Gapless definitely looks like a great option for users who want more features, while Amberol keeps the default experience simple and lightweight. And of course, users can always install whichever player fits their workflow best. Thanks for bringing up the suggestion! It's always great to see the community discussing possible improvements. 👍 |

Hello!

Is there a specific reason for using Amberol as the music player?
I’ve been using Gapless for a while and find it to be a very interesting player; it seems very lightweight and feature-rich...
Just a humble suggestion!
