got it back issue was reboot my second pc that has windows then image (screen) from switched linux there and fine then monitor so its was monitor thingy problem not anything else huh .. all good now here dam screen got me haha .. all good now :)

Glad you got it working again.

Based on your follow-up, this was a monitor/input-switching issue, not an AnduinOS update failure or an NVIDIA driver failure. Therefore, you do not need to reinstall the NVIDIA driver now.

However, one important request for future support posts: please always include the exact AnduinOS version and build you are running. Without knowing the version before and after the update, I cannot determine whether an update introduced a regression.

At minimum, please include the output of:

cat /etc/os-release
uname -r
nvidia-smi

If the problem appeared immediately after an update, this is also useful:

grep -E 'Start-Date|Commandline|Upgrade:' \
    /var/log/apt/history.log |
    tail -n 40

A report saying only that “the system was updated and the screen broke,” without the exact version, screenshot, package history, or logs, does not provide enough information to investigate and may incorrectly make the update look responsible.

Assuming you are using AnduinOS 2.0.1, the recommended NVIDIA driver installation method is:

sudo apt update
sudo ubuntu-drivers install
sudo reboot

After rebooting, verify it with:

nvidia-smi

If nvidia-smi displays your GTX 960 and the driver information, then the NVIDIA driver is loaded correctly and should not be reinstalled.

Please use the Ubuntu/AnduinOS repository packages rather than downloading a random NVIDIA .run installer. Repository packages integrate much better with kernel updates, DKMS, and Secure Boot.

Since the current problem has been confirmed as a monitor-side issue and is now resolved, I will consider this discussion solved.

Glad you got it sorted out! 😄 It’s funny how a display/input-switching issue can make you think the GPU or Linux update completely broke everything.

Good to know it turned out not to be an NVIDIA driver or AnduinOS problem. The maintainer’s advice about including the exact OS version, kernel, nvidia-smi, and package history is also really useful for diagnosing future issues.

And yeah… definitely a good reminder to check the monitor and cables before blaming the GPU. 😂
